Meet Your Grower

My earliest memory of growing flowers takes me back to planting snapdragons in a small window box with my mom. She had a deep love for gardening, passed down from her father, who trialed roses for a renowned hybridizer to see how they fared in the harsh Midwest winters. From them, I learned not just the joy of flowers but the importance of slowing down and appreciating life’s simple pleasures. “Take time to smell the roses” was a lesson I’ve carried with me ever since, along with the understanding of how sharing flowers can bring smiles to others.

The path to my flower business began with my very first garden many years ago. My husband and I had moved into a small apartment with a 4' x 20' bed just off the patio. We amended the soil, planted snapdragons and ranunculus in the fall, and as the LA summer heat rolled in, we added dahlias, lisianthus, vincas, and marigolds. Our little patio overflowed with planters and pots, filling every inch with life.

About 20 years ago, job opportunities brought us to the Pacific Northwest, where we dreamed of a larger yard to grow even more. Soon, our 10,000 sq ft lot was filled with a wide array of flowering plants, and a greenhouse followed, leading to even more plants. When space became tight, we expanded our growing area by adding a 1,200 sq ft pea patch in the Kent Valley. It was there that my dream of sharing flowers with others truly took root. Surrounded by beauty, I realized I wanted to share more than just with family and friends—I wanted to spread that joy to the wider community.

As the pandemic reshaped our world, I saw many people turning to nature for solace and seeking ways to bring more joy and health into their lives. This inspired me to reconnect with my roots and my passion for sharing flowers. As an educator at heart, I find great fulfillment in empowering others, and I know how much peace gardening can bring, especially in times when we need it most. There’s something deeply healing about the process of growing and sharing flowers, from the quiet moments of tending to a garden to the happiness that blooms when you give a homegrown bouquet to brighten someone’s day.

Gratitude is at the core of what I do—helping you grow a healthier world, not just for ourselves and our loved ones, but for the planet. Here’s to creating more beauty, joy, and connection, one flower at a time.
